2023 was a another cracking year for photographing rugby I genuinely think it has been the best 12 months ever. Add to that a trip to Mongolia in March to spend time in the Altai Mountains with nomadic eagle hunters and it has been an incredible year.
For me I was lucky enough to cover a lot of Premiership games, Six Nations, Champions Cup, Challenge Cup and World Cup warm up games. I have had a lot of usage during the year with images uses in the Times, Guardian, Telegraph, BBC, Le Monde and so on. I was awarded a special merit in the World Sports Photography Awards and have been short listed for Travel Photographer of the Year for a portfolio of images from the Mongolia trip.
Pro Sports Images were awarded the contract as club photographers for Exeter Chiefs in 2023 and I have spent a lot of time at Sandy Park photographing players on media day and merchandise for the club shop as well as covering the games. Exeter Chiefs are a great club and working with them has been a pleasure. In a year that they were supposed to be rebuilding, after a lot of senior players moved on, they have played some amazing rugby and caught a lot of people off guard.
I'm looking forward to 2024 and can't wait to see what it brings.
Here is a selection of my favourite images from the year working representing Pro Sports Images. I hope you enjoy them.
